PASADENA, Md., May 25 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Following the Constitution Party of Maryland's State Convention Saturday, May 20, 2004, Michael Anthony Peroutka, State chairman of the Party and national Constitution Party candidate for President, issued this statement:
"We are, again, on the ballot! I am very encouraged and deeply grateful to all those who made this possible and all those who attended our Convention. Our return to the ballot is a truly historic day because it means the people of Maryland now have a real Constitutional choice in this State. Marylanders will no longer have to vote for what many have considered as 'the lesser of two evils.' We will now be able to vote for individuals who promise to abide by the rule of law. This is a new season of hope for truth-in-government. And we thank God for it."
Highlights of the Constitution Party of Maryland Convention included:
-- A stirring, heart-felt, memorized recitation of "Maryland, My Maryland" by young Ben Boyce, Jr.
-- The nomination of Thomas Trump to be a candidate for the U.S. Senate. And the nomination of Steve Krukar to be a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, 5th District.
-- An address by Franklin Sanders, editor of "The Moneychanger," calling for a return to the Biblical federalism of our founders.
-- An address by political commentator Mark Dankof in which he told how and why he left the Republican Party to become a member of the Constitution Party.
