"THE AMERICAN VIEW" Goes Live!

Dear Friends of the Constitutional Republic:

Today is a great day! As you know, when the 2004 Presidential Campaign came to a close, our efforts to restore our Constitutional Republic were only just beginning.

Today I am pleased to announce the introduction of our new website titled, "The American View". On this site we will continue to encourage Americans to recover, rehearse and reconnect with the "American View" of law and government. This view succinctly and eloquently exåpressed in the American Declaration of Independence can be summarized as follows:

1. There is an Almighty, Everlasting, Omniscient, God -- the God of the Bible -- Who is active in the affairs of men.
   
2. Our rights, including our right to life, liberty and property come from Him.
   
3. It is the purpose of government to secure, protect and defend these God-given rights.

This is the "American View." This is what an American believes. Adherence to this belief is what essentially makes one American.

America has departed from this view of law and liberty and government and has adopted another view. This other view is, literally, anti-American. Whether you describe this other view as socialist, secular humanist, communist or whatever, it is essentially a pagan view. This pagan understanding alternately asserts that the state is god, that man is god, or that there is no higher authority binding upon mankind than himself.

This departure from first principle, I believe, is at the core of the political, cultural, economic and spiritual decline in our country.

This is why we promote the "American View" through educational programs such as Institute on the Constitution, political commentary and news dissemination.

Our new website is dedicated to all these things and much more. It will regularly feature:

-- Exclusive news stories, interviews and analyses you will see nowhere else.

-- "ARGHHS! From the Abyss" short items that may be hazardous to your mental health if you believe the word "Republican" is, necessarily, synonymous with "Christian" and/or "conservative."

-- Our "American View" weekly radio show which I co-host with "recovering Republican" John Lofton. We are syndicated by "Radio America" and are now broadcast in 37 cities in 22 states.

-- Weblogs by myself, John Lofton, Editor, and Scott Whiteman, our Managing Editor.

-- The "AMVIEW Forum" where you can communicate with us and others participating in this "Forum."

-- Poetry. If you have favorite poems that fit our themes, please send them to us.

-- Resources. We will, at some point, link to other Web sites. But, we're being very careful in choosing such links because we take seriously who we refer you to.

-- Political Cartoons.

-- Books/Movies Etc. - Here we will comment on and/or recommend/review books, movies, etc. Suggestions appreciated.

-- Speakers Bureau. John Lofton, our Editor, Scott Whiteman, our Managing Editor, and I am all available to speak. We all have topics we can address, or we may be able to speak on a topic you suggest.
